TRUE OR FALSE?
You will get better fuel economy if you fill up your car in the morning when the temperature is cooler.
FALSE.
People often advise to get your gas in the morning rather than the afternoon so you can benefit from the greater density of cooler temperatures. But since the fuel is stored in tanks underground, you won't see much temperature fluctuation throughout the day. The fuel will not typically get hot while it comes through the pump assuming the business is relatively steady. Time of day for filling up your vehicle is irrelevant. Just get gas whenever you drive by a station.
